Who Can Benefit?
Although SOLS was originally designed with the traditional
school classroom in mind, its functionality is not limited
to only one setting. SOLS can also be used to enhance learning
in a variety of types of settings, such as:
Traditional classroom: course syllabi, lecture summaries,
supplemental materials, extra practice materials, posting
test or exam review aids, streaming videos of lectures
Job training centers or employee enhancement departments: video tutorials for basic and advanced skills training, posting
of written training materials
Math tutoring programs: dissemination of techniques, methods,
practice, and review materials
Athletic programs: posting work outs, training videos, recordings
of matches/games
School music programs: posting sheet music, recordings of
work, and private instructional lessons showing musical performance
and rudimentary techniques, allowing students to replay lessons
as many times as needed
Churches: coordination of evening seminar and other educational
materials, training information for mission trips and other
service-related projects
Home school groups: creating custom lessons, sharing of
course materials, techniques, and more
ESL and other language centers or tutoring programs: posting
